U.S. Army Major General with the 37th Division during World War II. Collection contains correspondence and speeches of General Beightler, 1940-1948; drafts of histories of the 37th Division; regimental and battalion reports and histories; intelligence reports; orders; and an alphabetical subject file. Correspondence of the 37th Division Veteran's Association as well as releases from the Division's Public Relations office also are included. During World War II the 37th Division saw action on Figi, New Georgia, Bougainville, and on Luzon in the Philippines. Contact repository for more information.
